The Bombardier Q400, also known as the Series 400, is a turboprop regional airliner that belongs to the Dash 8 series of aircraft. While the series of turboprop regional airliners was first introduced by de Havilland Canada in 1984, rights to production were later acquired by Bombardier in 1992. Under Bombardier, multiple variants such as the Q-Series were designed and added to the family of airliners. In 2019, de Havilland Canada’s parent organization, Longview Aviation Capital, purchased the series and revived the brand under de Havilland Canada. Since production of the Dash 8 series began in 1983, over 1,200 units have been produced.
