The Aérospatiale SN 601 Corvette is a business jet that was produced over the years of 1974 to 1977. The SN 601 Corvette came about after research and development into an aircraft that could be compact, feature twin-turbofan engines, serve as a liaison/trainer, and could fulfill both business and government needs. After testing, prototyping, and adjustments, the SN 601 Corvette was finalized and maiden flight was conducted in 1972. Beyond acting as a VIP aircraft, the Aérospatiale SN 601 Corvette was also adopted by some airliners such as Air Alsace, Air Alpes, Air Champagne, TAT, and Sterling Airways. Some SN 601 Corvette units were also employed by Airbus Industrie for the use of staff transportation within Europe. After a decrease in orders, the SN 601 Corvette ceased production in 1977.
