The Hawker Hunter is a transonic, jet-powered aircraft that was designed and manufactured by Hawker Aircraft. As a fighter, ground attack, and reconnaissance aircraft, the Hunter was utilized by a number of operators such as the Royal Air Force, Indian Air Force, Swedish Air Force, and Swiss Air Force. The Hawker Hunter had a manufacturing period beginning in the late 1940’s, and it has since been retired from military service as of 2014 after almost 2,000 units were produced. Nevertheless, the aircraft still serves as a warbird and contractor aggressor aircraft.
