The AgustaWestland VH-71A, more commonly known as the US101, is an all-weather medium-lift helicopter that provides for a variety of applications. Common operations that the US101 may fulfill include combat search and rescue (CSAR), battlefield support, maritime surveillance, executive transport, and more. The US101 serves as the United States variation of the EH101, which is currently under the service of such entities as the UK Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Italian Navy, and Canadian Forces. Since 1998, the US101 has been in service and has achieved over 24,000 flying hours across the fleet. Currently, both Lockheed Martin and AgustaWestland are collaborating to manufacture the US101 helicopter for the United States market.
