The Mil Mi-8 is a Russian manufactured aircraft, currently serving as the world’s most produced helicopter with over 17,000 units having been built since initial production began in 1961. Across its many users across the world, the Mil Mi-8 typically is employed for transportation, reconnaissance, airborne command post operations, and as an armed gunship. When outfitted for transportation roles, the Mi-8 may carry 26 passengers, 12 stretchers, 8,800 lb of hardpoints, or a combination of the three.
