The EADS CASA C-295M is a twin-turboprop military transport aircraft that was originally designed and developed by EADS CASA, and it is now manufactured by Airbus Defense and Space. The EADS CASA C-295M was derived from the CASA/IPTN CN-235, bringing a stretched fuselage, improved engines, and an increased payload capacity. The C-295M was first flown in 1998, and production began only one year later. Since production began in 1997, around 164 units have been built and delivered.
