The Pilatus PC-6 Porter is a STOL passenger and utility aircraft designed and manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft. The model has been produced in both a piston engine version and a turboprop engine version, and Fairchild Hiller has also manufactured the aircraft under licence for the United States. Altogether, the Pilatus PC-6 Porter was produced over the years between 1959 and 2019, and almost 600 units were built as of 2017. As a Short Takeoff and Landing aircraft, the PC-6 is specifically designed to operate on almost any type of terrain. Due to its STOL capability, the PC-6 holds the world record of highest landing by a fixed-wing aircraft, landing on 18,865 feet on the Dhaulagiri glacier of Nepal.
