The SF.260 is a trainer and light attack aircraft that was designed by Stelio Frati and is currently under production by Leonardo S.p.A. Beginning production in 1964, over 870 units have been manufactured as of 2005. Primary users of the SF.260 include the Italian Air Force, Turkish Air Force, Mexican Air Force, and the Philippine Air Force. While the aircraft primarily serves for trainer and light attack roles, a number of units have also been sold to private operators and civil customers. Over the years of development, a number of variations have been produced by Aviamilano, SIAI Marchetti, and Alenia Aermacchi.
