US NAVAIR Awards DynCorp International a USD$93.3 Million Task Order
Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, DynCorp International is an American private military contractor that provides flight operations, training and mentoring, and international development services. It also provides intelligence training and support, contingency operations, security, as well as operations and maintenance of land vehicles.
Earlier this week, the United States Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) announced that they have chosen DynCorp International to provide aircraft maintenance and logistics support for aircraft allocated to the NAVAIR Warfare Center located in Fallon, Nevada. The order has a potential value of USD$93.3 million alongside a five-year period of performance.
This is not the first time that NAVAIR and DynCorp have worked together. As part of a US Navy contract, DynCorp has previously delivered operation and maintenance support for communication suites used on military sealift command vessels. In addition, back in 2009, DynCorp was contracted by the Navy to provide support services for the Joint Special Operations Task Force in the Philippines.
Built on more than six decades of experience, DynCorp is a national force employing over 27,000 employees—12,300 of which were all hired over the span of one year. In 2013, the company reported a revenue of USD$3.3 billion—96 percent of which came from the United States’ federal government.
