Functionality of Antennas

The antenna is an item consisting of a conductor or system of conductors that is specifically designed to radiate and/or receive electromagnetic waves in free space. This can include beam-forming devices, drive motors, synchros, radome, and associated mechanical structure. As it is a single automatic direction finder (ADF), the antenna can receive radio signals with a sense antenna and a loop antenna, the latter which dictates the strength of the signal it receives from the ground station to determine the direction of the station, and the former which determines whether the aircraft is moving toward or away from the station.
