The Eurocopter EC145 is a mid-size helicopter designed and manufactured by Eurocopter. It has been in production since 2001 and has a base price of 5.5 million dollars. Originally called the BK 117 C2, the EC145 is based on the Kawasaki BK 117 C1 helicopter, which became part of the Eurocopter lineup in 1992 when Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm merged with Aerospatiale to form Eurocopter.
